About TURC (Tohoku Univ. Rowing Club)

Tohoku University Rowing Club is a club which aims at the top of Japan and the world by rowing. Our goal is the victory in Intercollege Championships M8+.

We row at the Teizan Canal which is beside the Sendai Airport.

Our club was founded as Second Highschool Boat Club in 1895.

Our M8+ crew participated in the Rome Olympics in 1960. We won in All Japan Championships M8+ in 1978. We are five times champion of Intercollege Championships M8+ in 1995, 1980, 1979, 1978 and 1975.
